Start of my last BDS term break..

Like I’ve already mentioned in my previous post, I’d LOVED to graduate soon-don’t get me wrong-but I love even MORE our current dentistry course layout. Professor Comfort is such a darling and efficient planner that our schedule is busy-

busy.like.crazy.wanna.faint.no.time.to.breathe.busy-

yet gives us some little breather at the end of the term or in some lucky weeks. Now that Saturday is also opened for clinics and some Sundays are for hospital visits, it’s on really rare occasions that we get to sleep in on weekends. Sigh, there goes my weekend Sleeping half-moon time. But then I’m not complaining. It’s been a real joy studying these past few years and knowing the people that I’m close with now. Am not really a cry-baby by nature, so can’t wait to see when we graduate/ on convocation day/ on the last day of our last paper/ on the last day of our class trip whether my tear-floodgates are going to burst forth. LOL…

Anyway, pastor shared a joke just now in church that I think is really funny. Anyone could tell me whether they heard/read/seen this anywhere??

3 persons went to play golf on a fair, sunny day. The first golfer teed off and the golf-ball flew then sank to the bottom of a pond. He then proceeded to holding his golf club above the pond water and the water parted in two. He went to where his golf ball was and hit it to the other side of the pond on the green. Moses looked back to the other two golfers and gave a small victorious smile.

The second person’s turn came up and lo and behold, he hit the golf-ball to the middle of the pond too. As the ball was half-floating and half-sinking, Jesus quickly walked on water and hit the ball over to the other side of the bank.

Next came the 3rd person’s turn. He gave one good hit to the golf ball and the ball flew all the way over the fence, out of the golf course, rolled on the highway next to the golf course, got hit by a passing truck, flew to the rooftop of a nearby house, dropped into the rain gutter of the house and down a hill into a pond. As the ball rolled down the hill, it hit a pebble and dropped on a lily-pad at the edge of the pond. As the ball is sinking, a frog came up and ate the ball up. While the frog was holding the ball in its mouth and wanting to swallow it, an eagle made its descent from the sky, swooped down and caught the frog in its claws. Soaring higher and higher in the eagle’s claws, the frog got scared and gave out a frightened shout! The golf ball in its mouth fell down fast and went straight into the hole in the golf course where the 3 persons stood. It was a hole-in-one!!!!

Moses then looked to Jesus and said while shaking his head:”It is impossible to win your father in a game of golf.”

Is that funny or what???!!!! LOL…..

2011 comes to an end..

Yes, it’s that time of the year every year where I celebrate birthday, 冬至, Christmas and New Year holiday-package-combo in just almost a week. Ain’t it fun? This time around I didn’t get to spend it with my usual group of ppl. But I thank Gerviene, Shih Lin, Rachel, Youming and Soo Huan for spending my b’day with me. It was MUCH better than spending it all cooped up in my room alone…most probably sleeping or watching shows… Lol… And my presents… Hehe… I totally love all the sincere cards and practical gifts for me. I think I’m at that age where I get all sentimental receiving written wishes and blessings... Lol.. Few years from now, I’ll probably get all mushy and cry looking at my gifts… And further down the road…..

gifts
Hahahaha…. I can almost imagine this progressive evolvement change…. LOL!!!

And yes, to prove the authenticity of our creativity and sincerity, you can see one part without the wrapper. Haha… Sign of it being genuine. And her gift?? Weighs by the kilogram. Lol… What is it you ask?? Well…. That shall be a funny memory and secret for Rachel and I…

I’ve fallen…

….. in love….

NOT!!!!!! Hahaha…. Though I’m sure many of you thought and maybe hoped for it to be true, but nah…. What I’ve fallen on is the bandwagon of online shopping…. Before this, I’m nothing but against online shopping, banking, etc coz it’s not safe, information is easily leaked, website could be hacked, lots of spams online etc… Till I found…..

Mr. Samgyetang!!!

samgyetang

Or also known as Korean ginseng chicken soup.. Sigh…. Yeah, ppl, I’ve thrown away all inhibitions and negativity…. for a chicken…… Hahahaha…. It's for this online coupon deal thingy…… I can’t believe it too… Like :”WHAT???!!!!” right? Hahaha….. I’ve been tempted by so many previous things before like clothings, accessories, contact lenses, shoes but I’ve managed to resist them all….. And in the end, I’ve lost to a spring chicken…. *ROFL* Oh wells, this better be one heck of a swell chicken soup!!!!

Deepavali weekend+funny scare

Spent the Deepavali holiday here in Kedah instead of back home in KL this year… Why you ask?? Coz I thought that my external hard disk was spoilt and wanted to get a new one at the PC Fair here at Village Mall… Turned out, God was so awesome that He healed an inanimate object for me… LOL!!! It’s totally cured just like that though one computer dude said it was beyond the point of no repair.. (Dunno whether that guy was totally inefficient or I sighted a plain miracle at work, lol…) But my parents were like “Whether miracle or otherwise, you could have gotten a new one from Low Yat Plaza here you know??” Well, that’s true but I wanted to stay here to strengthen myself… In a setting filled with family love and unconditional care, one wouldn’t grow strong.. And in a situation like the one I’m having now (to those who knows), I need to be tougher, to be able to face certain stuffs alone… But I sincerely thank my family so much for all that they did and I’m sure will continue doing, I LOVE YOU ALL!!! Plus the many true friends I can trust after sieving through my pile of friends-- Thank you!!  So, there you have it, my somewhat logical explanation on why I’m not back home…

Anyway, because of that, I experienced a REALLY funny incident yesterday.. TNB had to do some maintanence work yesterday to upgrade our campus’ electrical supply so we were to literally live in the dark from 10am-10pm… Since they cut off the supply at 9.30am, my roommate and I plus Claud next door went out for lunch to escape the heat.. Then we headed off to Village Mall to do some shopping, which we couldn’t do much due to the lack of shops and even tea-time at Secret Recipe, we had to go home at 5.30pm, assuming that the electricity would be back by then… Well, the whole place was still dark til 7pm… Cut the story short, we decided to go out again for dinner and to buy candles in case we’ll be left in the dark for long…. As we were walking down the stairs, the fire alarm suddenly went off and was shrieking as loud as it could.. Since the place was desolate, the neverending alarm was quite scary.. As we proceeded to my car  equipped with torchlights in our hands, lo and behold, we saw two huge red trucks in the carpark easing in our hostel… With the fire alarm blazing its head off, one would think those were the fire trucks right?? So, I got freaked out when I drove out and called my dad.. Daddy thinks I should give a call to the TNB hotline to find out what happened so well, here goes…

fireTNB staff: What is the problem, miss?
Me: Well, our university is still dark now after 12 hours.. When will the electricity be back on?
TNB staff: You mean your university has no electricity?
Me: Yes, the whole campus.
TNB staff: Well, sorry but we are not responsible for power failure inside a university. You would have to call a wireman.
Me: No!! I meant it was a TNB upgrading project that caused the breakdown.
TNB staff: Yes, I understand but like I said, we are not responsible for the electrical malfunction inside a university.
Me: But this is due to your project!!
TNB staff: Yes, but we are not responsible for it. Better call a wireman, miss.
Me: .. You don’t understand!! …..But… *exasperated* Fine, never mind, then can I know what happened that there’s fire trucks parked in our parking lots then?
TNB staff: In your campus?
Me: Yes, in my campus.
TNB staff: Well, you’d have to call a wireman to find out.
Me: WHAT?? A wireman is responsible for fire trucks now?
TNB staff: Yes, we are not responsible. Better call a wireman, miss.
Me: Call a wireman to see why are there fire trucks in my campus, after the electrical breakdown, which was due to a TNB upgrading project?
TNB staff: Yes, call a wireman, miss. We are not responsible to electrical breakdown inside a university campus.
Me: ……………..*speechless* Yeah well, thanks for your help, k?
*Clicks*
Me thinking.. ‘or no help at all… And… what is a wireman in the first place???!!!”

Totally bizarre irrelevant conversation between  two confused souls, lol…

In the end, we found out that the two blazing red hot trucks were the generator trucks that were called in to temporarily supply electricity until TNB were done with their work. Which was 1am coz the power got cut for 10 minutes again and we happily lit up the newly bought candles for well, 10 minutes… Lol… I’m so glad I didn’t make a big fuss about the “fire trucks”.. Imagine me going, “I DON’T CARE!! GET YOUR BOSS ON THE LINE TO EXPLAIN TO ME WHY THE HECK IS THERE FIRE TRUCK INVOLVED IN A BLACKOUT SITUATION RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” And that the person really did call the fire department to see whether trucks are sent into our campus.. That, my friends,  would be totally EMBARRASSING to say the least!!! Hahahahahahaha…. All in all, I had a fun weekend… Spent a lot but learnt a lot too… Till next time, adieu!!

A funny poem dedicated to Chinese dumplings-粽子-by me..

Oh, it is that time of the year,
Fifth day of the fifth month every year,
According to the Chinese lunar year.

Where dragon boats are geared,
Where bamboo or reed leaves fear-
Being forced to wrap around glutinous rice, meat, beans, then boiled with their tear.

A time where dumplings are easily found and people cheer,
Where more combinations of fillings are created I hear,
Seeing those weird “creative” dumplings, I shudder and fear. (=p)

Oh, yet how I long for a dumpling,
Its yummy-ness makes me go a’searching.
Even if consumed, makes my weight increasing,
I’ll still relish and ravish my dumpling eating,
So I better go and get them now, or else it’ll be really depressing!!

Hahahahaha… That’s all folks, poet SeReNe in the making!!! LOL!!
