Red hot BDS Batch 3!!

As a continuation of the previous post, here are some photos regarding that wonderful moment in time we won tug-of-war and made the seemingly impossible possible…Again, to every one who came to either participate, cheer, support, or help or did all of the above, everyone really did great!!! Batch 3’s really an awesome batch!! Who says dental students are boring huh? Lol…DSC01143

Showing just the dragon tail part of the tug-of-war-warriors!! Should have taken a picture of our opponent to show you who we were up against..

adsalympics
So that wraps up our almost 2 weeks long ADSAlympic… It seriously ended with a blast!!

Of team spirit and unity…

It’s been a long long while since I feel so proud and touched to be with a certain bunch of people and the 3rd batch of dentistry student in AIMST university just reminded me how great that feeling is… I am so so honoured to be in this great class!! The awesome unity, the together-ness.. Beats the always-united-and-together burger and patty anytime.. (No, I still dunno why I used that illustration…Lol…)

If you didn’t get the chance to witness our near-miraculous win in tug of war 2day, you’ve just missed out on the most touching scene of the year, ok, fine, month, ok fine, only among our batch most probably..But still… We won the tug-of-war event!!! Many of you will think “pfft, big deal…” right?? So let me lay down the groundwork… No one expected us to win.. In fact, no one though we COULD win.. We were deemed weak.. Loud but empty.. Losers… Plus the fact that our final match was against last year’s winner… Hopeless ain’t it?Impossible I hear?? Oh, but we showed them!! We showed them well!! The participants pulled in one accord, the supporters chanted and cheered us on in one voice, one goal, for us to win and not hurt ourselves… We even have our very own conductor- David leading the pack… We’ll admit that we may not be stronger, we may not be bigger, we may not be the favourite, but we were definitely tugging that thick rope with our all… It feels like the 10 pair of hands strongly holding onto that thick rope without letting go has 39 other pairs of hand invisibly helping at the same time… The supporters were shouting their lungs out the whole time without fail and that itself motivates us tuggers to pull harder.. To the ends of the earth if needs be I tell you!! The whole sea of red-jersey-clad-ppl were doing everything as one and the moment we won the match, the supporters were the ones crying in joy… now THAT is the extend our class feels for each other… No matter the result, at the very least, we can proudly say we gave it our best.. Winning or losing?? Don’t know , don’t care.. Winning is of course undeniably an extra reward but otherwise, am sure all of us will appreciate the memories created throughout ADSAlympics this year… Just wanna say, good job, good job, Batch 3!! We’re seriously one red hot fighting team!! To all participants and supporters alike, we were awesome!! The week wouldn’t be half as fun nor memorable otherwise… Love love love our batch!!! Keep it up!!

PS Sorry Philip for losing your muscle pain reliever!!!

Of Melissa’s birthday, ADSAlympics and cheerleading…

This is the sixth day I’m back in Kedah… sigh… Miss KL so so so so so much already…We’re just back from a holiday and apparently are being thrusted into exam mode straightaway… Ugh, disturbingly spiteful.. Especially since end of this semester would be our second year’s final exam.. Sighs….Comparing all dental years’ final exams, this is supposedly the hardest.. Sighs for the third time… Oh wells, kick those thoughts aside for now and let’s see what happened on the fourth week of the fourth month in my life..

Other than NOT studying at all for my Malaysian Studies mid term paper, we have ADSAlympics this week in history, a one of a kind olympic for us, dental students with events going strong and continuous for around one and a half week non-stop.. Throughout this whole week, I’m in our batch’s cheerleading squad so yeah, am really really tired with the end result being Gerviene and I lost our amazing voices due to much shouting and cheering.. Her case is more serious though coz.. well, for all those who know me, you know how powerful my voice is and can be right? (I dunno whether to feel happy or sad writing that down =p) Will post up cheerleaders’ picture and choreographed cheer dance in the next post..

Then on Tuesday night celebrated Melissa’s birthday, my ex-爱人 (She said it, not me!! I’m innocent k??!!lol..) at Eternal Zone, a buffet cum BBQ place in a quite secluded place in SP.. (mainly coz I never knew of its existence before this..=p) But after my recent Yaki Yaki trip, all other food outlets with similar concept holds no appeal to me so I can’t review bout the food there alrights?? However, it’s a good place to go to when you’re seriously hungry, lol, since it is actually quite cheap while you fill to your heart’s content.. There is also a karaoke room there for aspiring singers..

Some of the hungry people busy surrounding the BBQ and steamboat cooking set..
Haha, was real hungry after ADSAlympics with cheerleaders cheering and contestants playing hard..

DSC04255

A red sea of ppl.. Lol, the red jersey’s our class shirt for ADSAlympics.. Looks like a bunch of MU hooligans supporters, don’t you think?? =p Luckily there’s no serious football match going on nowadays..

Some of the crazy people all stuffed inside the karaoke room…

Will post up more stuffs on the red hot players in my class and the even hotter (=p) cheerleaders soon.. Til then, adios!

Random updates…Yaki-yaki buffet restaurant, Han Han noodles house

So yes, sorry everyone for the delay… Was reaaaaaaaaaaly having fun in KL during my much needed one week break that I didn’t even have time to get online… Sorry… Anyways, promised you guys I’ll update on Yaki-Yaki so here goes…

Am guessing that through many food blogs you’ll see pictures of the ambience, deco, food and such so I’ll skip those and just write about the place k? (Fine, I’ll admit the other reason I’m skipping the pictures is because I was too busy gobbling food down to remember to take them..sorry!!) Let’s start… Well, since my family and I went during the 50% off promotion period-which is til the end of this month by the way-on Easter Sunday, the queue was darn long 20 minutes before they’re even open for diners.. Many were turned out because they didn’t make reservation in advance and I was totally pleased I did, lol..

The place is easy to find and it looks quite decent with its yellow and black theme.. Kinda like its simple yet friendly dim atmosphere.. Foodwise, it’s just so-so and the choice is very very much limited.. Was really disappointed because a lot of food were not there on the day we went… There was no scallop at all, (like, what the..?? None at all?? It’s not like they’re giving us big ones anyways..) no soft shell crabs and a lack of coconuts supply…Had to queue up each time for coconuts which may be finished by the time you reached the front of the line and you’ll have to stand there another 20minutes for the next batch to come out..So if you’re going there alone, you’ll most probably end up queuing up most of the time, whether it’s for coconuts, for ice-cream or what nots… However, to be fair to them, with the promotion price, I’d say it barely scraped through my standard… With the normal price the management fixed for the meal, I’ll not go back there ever again… My bro seems to like the all you can eat concept though coz he asked me to bring him there again the next week… –.-" am so jealous of people who can never grow fat… Sigh… But too bad, am not bringing him there again!! Bwahahahaha…
Ambience- 3.5 out of 5
Food-2.5 outta 5 (Though judging on purely BBQ meat and sashimi, maybe I’ll give it a 3.5.. I dunno? None in he family can eat much.. Such a pity)
Service-4 outta 5
Price- 4 outta 5 (Only during its promotion period, otherwise, I’ll give it a 1)

Barbeque-ing some food.. The “mua-chi”’s nice though..

Some jellies…

Yes, I had failed my purpose and call of duty to take pictures there cause I was really happy going around in search of food…Spare me and my-deprived-in-university-stomach alrights??

Ok, next up, review on a restaurant I saw which was on another food blog, Han Han restaurant in Jalan Wawasan, Ampang.. It got a really good review and was on some food magazine so I decided to give it a try since as an Ampang resident, I must fulfill my calling to be able to tell others abou the food around huh? So I’ll put the pictures up 1st..
DSC01108

Han Han restaurant exterior.. The Chinese characters mean “Noodle house”.. Hate the too-simple-feel-like-crying deco though..

DSC01103

Their pricey set of food.. This costs RM16.90.. My family and I do not mind paying for good food but this food ain’t good and the place ain’t good and the price is hence very not good..

DSC01102

Since it’s a noodle house, of course we gave their noodles a try and…
Was very disappointed…
Ugh, my mum cooks much better… Hey, even my instant noodle cooking skill taste better. It’s bland.. tasteless…
Worst was we found hair in…UGGGGGHHHHHHH!!! DSC01105

My sis loved this “loh shee fun” though I tasted better..

DSC01107

My bowl of sweet potato porridge… Well, sigh, no comment…

DSC01099

爱玉冰 “ai yu bing”
Was okay..

DSC01101

Our bowl of ais kacang… The ones at Jo En’s place was so much cheaper and nicer.. You can see the picture for yourself somewhere in this blog..

As a conclusion, Han Han was so overrated.. Food’s expensive with real bland taste.. May not even be hygienic coz we found hair in their food… I end the review just like that.. Judge for yourself whether to believe it… Can’t believe I wasted time, money and effort to review that place.. Goes to show how powerful and confusing the net is…Though I beg to differ with their say.. Hate that place very much…

Oh, and my camera phone’s real awesome!! The pictures are so edible…So proud of it… haha…

Current state

So folks, this would be your only update on me for the next week or so… Yes, that’s the extent an exam has on a dental student in AIMST University.. Be content I’d even put this up.. I could have simply disappear for 2 weeks but well, here I am, showing you, my dear readers how responsible I am.. Lol.. Til my next update on the (hopefully) great food in Yaki-Yaki buffet restaurant, adios!! (I THINK it’ll at least be good, though I’m judging based on the limited reviews done there..)  Will do a good review to all those interested alrights?

DSC00966Trying to stuff things into my head last-minute like usual..
And why are we tortured with memorising drugs’ name, action etc even on diarrhoea, constipation or diuretics? It’s not like a patient would come to me & be like, “Hey doctor, not only am I having a toothache, can you treat my diarrhoea with watery yellowish s**t these few days now as well?”

*Faints*
-Information overload, automatic shutdown-

PS Please do pray you’ll NOT see me updating this blog for the time being, for my sake… Much thanks and love, xoxo..

Frog-田鸡- plus eel plus porridge experience in Sungai Petani

So yes, as the title suggests, this is a blog post on the food trip of mine last week with my roommate where I ate the thing I didn’t want to taste since last time after I saw the uncooked version and imagined it being in my stomach… Ughh…

As you all would know, the picture on the left shows frogs and the picture below shows cooked frogs… And guess what, I managed to gut them down after all!! (Much to even my mum’s surprise when I called her and told her about this feat of mine.. Lol..)

DSC00935

The cooked frogs swimming in a pot instead of a pond now.. Their meat are kinda like chicken but much more smooth and tender, no kidding!! I guess we Asians really can eat anything under the sun huh?

RM18 for two

DSC00934

This is a pot of eel to go with your pot of porridge.. Yum…

RM18 for two

And hey, eating eel’s not that disgusting k? It’s like eating sushi but cooked!! (ok, so there are sushi haters but….) And I do so love unagi too!! unagi-dai.jpg image by jq_tan

How can you hate eel after tasting unagi? (But my dad does, we tried to trick him into eating them many times but he being smart and all managed to deflect all our attacks.. Ishhh…)

DSC00937

Oh, this shop is actually a porridge shop so if you’re thinking about eating the meats mentioned above without the porridge? Well, I think you’re missing something important…

RM2 for a pot

Do leave me a comment if you’re in Sungai Petani and wanna give this shop a try alrights? I’d be glad to supply you with the direction to go there.. I would recommend the porridge which to me is veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery cheap while the pots of meats are quite honestly, actually pricey.. They serve veges too apparently but conveniently forgot to tell us when we were there so, a there you have it, your full set of complete meal!!
