Demolding~

Gosh, it has been so long since I updated this blog. It is full with cobwebs and dust and mold and mushrooms now.. Haha.. Not that it was a ritual or routine or even important but hey.. It was a place where I ranted and complained.. (Which I’m still doing as the workload is getting way too paper for my liking… ) Gone were the days where I was joking most of the time and finding simple laughter in small stuffs. Nowadays I’m mostly grumbling… Lol… I. MUST. NOT. COMPLAIN…… so much…. It will be a difficult uphill task, mind you. But one I will try to succeed in! I hope! Try, try and try again!!

However I am ever thankful for the great people I met here in this laid back town. Each and every one of them made everything here all sunny and cheery. Will make saying bye to this place real hard. But then since things are starting to change, it is now high time to start the farewell process. Let my next destination, next step be according to Your plan!! Let’s go~

2014 updates!

Yes yes, I know it is already February but hey, in all fairness, I’m a Chinese and it is STILL Chinese New Year so, yay!! I am right on track!! Hehehe…

    Can’t believe I started work on Monday when most others are still enjoying, celebrating and partying.. Oh wells, I had fun too in clinics unbelievably… Hope it’ll last for a long long time, this love for my job and the patients.. One day it will surely lose its shine and I will be demotivated, but hopefully when I look back, I will remember my first love of being a dentist… Somehow I have a feeling I will continue to be this happy-go-lucky girl right to the end though… Hehe, there you have it, my neverending optimism!!

    Anyway, it’s been a long while since I posted a photo so here goes, one on my Bali trip last week!!! Whee~ Happy New Year everybody!! *Fine, a happy CHINESE new year… sheesh, you ppl are sure specific and petty, hehehehe*

JERANTUT!!!

Yup, am here starting my 2nd year as a dental officer!! As of now everything has been smooth and awesome!!! I thank God for placing a good friend here and good officers around.. Because currently I am loving EVERYTHING here!!!
God is truly awesome and all things are done according to a bigger and better plan for me, His plan.. Hehe..

There are some down side to being posted here but hey, the good outweighed the bad so… Woohoo!!!! Will update again once I get settled down more to see beyond the rose coloured glass.. Hahaha…

Last few baby steps!!

2 more months of and I’ll grow up into a –hopefully fully competent- permanent officer!! So scary.. Don’t know where they will post me to, praying it won’t be too bad.. But how time flies!! Can still remember clearly how I was so worried b4 I started work. And *poof*, it’s nearing the end.. Thank God for everything.. Truly feels blessed the whole time… Will miss Kuantan real soon.. The people I’ve known and grown so attached to… Oh, am feeling sad already just talking about it..

Updates again

So yes!!! Am at my last specialist posting at Resto and I’d have to say being in Kuantan has its own perks!! Love every postings!! Really learnt so much and the ppl are all so so nice and such a joy to work with!! Hehe.. Really will miss every1 soon…

With this being my last posting, the last few months of my FYDO-ship would be spent in OPs… Next up, district posting!! *Dread dread* O Lord, help me!! Hehehehe….

Updates!

I just finished my 2nd round of on call!! This time it was all done by purely me-the lone ranger in action!! Kinda proud of myself.. Now to pass Tuesday’s review of the patients… Hehe.. All in all, it was good, I didn’t have long cases nor cases in the wee hours of the night so I’m thankful enough!! Hope my last round of on call would be this safe and peaceful too… Hehehehe…

   And I’m done with OS, peads, perio postings!!! Time truly flies!! Had great fun all the same.. Now am chilling out at Oral Medicine & Oral Pathology posting… Next up Ortho, Resto and then outpatients all over again… Pls pls pls pls pls let me go to a good district soon too!! Lol…

It WILL be a GOOD Friday this week!!

     I need positive support for Friday, ppl!!! I’m having my very first on call duty in hospital this weekend starting from Friday to Sunday, so am praying hard there’ll be no tough cases and there’ll be few patients only!! Secondly, I’ll be submitting my leave application form on Friday too for CNY so praying that my boss will approve it easily… hehe…

     Also, I’m in dire need for money this month and the next month!! Lol.. Kinda overdid my spending which is bad since my next salary is one month away on the 25th of February.. O Lord, help me!! And I need to pay my house rent on Friday, pay for lunch for the whole clinic’s staff on Thurs which is around say, RM120? and have dinner with all dental officers in Kuantan in a hotel that night which’ll cost me RM60 plus gifts and all… And this is just for the next three day when I’m supposed to not use any money for the next three WEEKS… GREAT, just great….  Oh wells, CNY is just around the corner so… =p

Will update about my on call soon!! Hoping for no news which is good news!!!

Kuantan

     After rambling on and on and on about how good Kuantan has been treating me thus far, the time has come for the unveiling of the disadvantage of staying here…

Flood..

     Thank God I went back KL on Monday for Christmas celebration so I didn’t experience  first hand the extent of it but gathering from news reports and videos of it thanks to the new IT era, the flood was bad. My rental house took the brunt of it till ankle level.. Few streets down the road a landslide occurred and the housing area next to mine had water till waist high level.. Luckily my belongings are all on the second floor and really I thank God it wasn’t worse.

     Nowadays just the sight of rain makes me shudder and pray that no flood will happen again.. And it is NOT helping that it has been raining non stop these days… And I meant non stop as in raining for two days straight then stopping for a breather and continue raining again.. I think Mr. Rain is having a marathon or had a bet with Mr. Cloud/ Mr. Thunder to see who can last longer… *please lose on purpose please please please* Lol…

     But really, it’s scary thinking about washing the whole house again… Yup, my concern is THAT small, not about the losing of lives, properties or what nots but the aftermath of it involving lots of scrubbing, mopping, sweeping, spraying of lots and lots of water in my small humble home.. I thank God for my family who was so nice in coming up to help me with it otherwise I’d be truly in a sorry state… Hence I guess that’s why God blessed their efforts by letting me buy them good dinner with my 1st pay with KKM!! Whee!!!  

So yes, I’m done with my pediatric posting so next up, periodontic!!!

Working dentist alert!

     Have started working in the dental clinic in Kuantan, Pahang for almost a month and will be posted to hospital next month for pedo attachment already.. As of now, I’m loving almost every single second of my working life!!! Hopefully I can still boast of this 2 way love next year at this time..   Pahang, pls treat me well… Hehe…

     And, as I am now officially a working adult, I’ll have to fork out money to pay the bills, rents, loans etc etc by myself.. Which is such a normal, adult thing to do so I guess I’m still a kid.. Hehe.. Though my parents are so unbelievingly awesome and am paying almost all my bills, I feel extremely bad.. Like why are they still supporting me when I am already working?? Sigh… Salary oh salary, when will thou drop into my bank account? My hands itch for you, my heart yearns for you and my neck longs for you literally!! Lol…

     Pray for me to stay great and to have wonderful friends, colleagues, patients, seniors and specialists around to help me alright? *Gasp, that sounds like such an extensive list!!*

Updates

After my last post on finally, wonderfully, successfully, ultimately, happily…. *you get the drift* becoming a dentist, I’ve not updated this blog for quite some time. Reason being I’m too busy…enjoying life to the fullest… Bwahaha…. So yes, just a quick update with pictures and I’m done!! At least this way you’ll know why I am MIA for the time being!! So yup, till we meet again, bye bye!!

PS For jealous people out there reading this post, fret not, this happy time of mine won’t last for long.. Soon I’d be busy working so life would be fair all over again k?? =p

Full fledge dentist now!!

Whee!!! This post is late to say the least since the results were out like 2 weeks ago but I was on a sleep-eat-watch-drama-series-movies-play-read VERY “busy” schedule that I’m posting this up only now… So yes, yay, I’m a dentist now!!! Greet me starting with Dr. soon… Hahaha… XD Just kidding… Still can’t believe 5 years has gone by, just like that… I can remember clearly still how it felt like 5 years ago and thinking how the end seems so long and so in the distance….. and here I am now… Doctor yet not a doctor yet…. Hehehe…
And yes, I really do miss university much!! Though I meant more of the schedule, the patients, food, FRIENDS especially, but NOT exams…. Hehehe… Really miss the fun times together… Nvm, will spend some holiday time with certain friends soon… =p

But it didn’t last long… The putty I mean, not their creativity… Hahaha… Really miss the funny things we do sometimes….

The amount of birthday cards, wishes, postcards, notes and others that will help me remember the good times and even greater friendships made along the way during our 5 years journeys… Missing them already….

It’s okay… I’m sure this will not be the end!! Let’s see who I’ll work with soon!! Till then, this would be what I’ll look at during my break in KL before my career takes off!! Ciao!!

Happy birthday!!!

My custom made cakes for mum and brother!! Designed, planned, paid and delivered while I’m “studying” in Kedah!!! Nearly got heart attack planning their delivery but mum sounds really happy over it so mission accomplished!! Well worth the effort!! Hehe… Will do more guerilla presents soon I guess??? Lol.. Now must focus on REALLY studying!!!!

Let’s celebrate my graduation in about a month!!!! Till then, goodbye!!

The reason I love my job!

     I just wanted to say how grateful I am that I am so blessed in my clinical sessions!! Yes, I WAS quite slow in my quotas for Year 3 and 4 but hey, somehow I’ve finished early in Year 5! Thank God, I feel like I'm witnessing a miracle in action.. Hehe.. (not forgetting, thank you, Gerv for starting off my endo quota and for helping me end my pedo quota… will buy you a gift soon!!! =p)

     Next, I want to show off by saying how the patients that I have mostly are so kind, compliant and nice in coming again and again faithfully for their dental treatments.. And I mean it when I said nice since one of my patient travels from Perak weekly for treatment…. So thankful I wanna cry… This patient THEN gave me this to thank me for my good job… I’m supposed to thank her, not the other way round!! But yes, I kinda did quite a good job on her… LOL…. Undeserved love I tell you....

     And then there’s my patient who gave me ang pows even when I’ve already finished treatment on him, who gave me one bagful of fresh organic vegetables from his garden, one patient who gave me 叉烧， 烧肉， one patient who gave me fruits whenever she comes, another who brings breakfast for me knowing I skip it sometimes etc etc etc.. AND then there are those who keep asking me to go out with them so that they can pay for my meal.... Sometimes, just a simple thank you from them is like many bells ringing from heaven to us, and my patient overdo it by showing me their gratitude with gifts and gestures.... I am so BLESSED, what more could I say?? My patients are so kind really.... Truly these are the people who formed the reason why I will continue to serve in the dental field and push on no matter what comes my way... I truly thank them for making me feel so loved.. oh-gosh-so-thankful-I-wanna-cry-again... Lol... Once more, thank you everyone!!! (patients, good lecturers, close friends and beloved family members are ALL included in making my dental student life so wonderful and enjoyable!!!)

PS Hmm, is this one way that says.... "I am MADE to be a dentist"?? Hahaha.... Just kidding, I think my sincerity in treating my patients and my AWESOME communication skills (or as my friend puts it, my super-geng persuasion skills) added much brilliant marks in clinics!! ROFL... Yes, it's bragging but hey, a gal has some rights to make herself feel good sometimes right?? righhhhhht?? RIGGGGGGHHHHHHHHTTTTTT??!!!! LOL!! Till next time, adios!!

Nearing the BDS finish line..

  Remembered posting this photo in my previous post entitled ‘Final bend’.. Now that I’m speeding past that bend, I can see the finish line just right ahead!!!

Optimistic mode!!! I’m going to finish this real soon!!!

     Anyway, where should I request for my 2 years posting?? KL-though it’s almost impossible to get?? Melaka-which is nearest to KL and is hard to get too?? Pahang- where my relatives and close friend are and is also hard to get?? Kedah-though it’s scary since I know the specialist here?? Or should I just give up and fill in Sabah or Sarawak?? Lol… Am thinking on going “eenie, meenie, miny, moe” soon… And tomorrow is the SPA/ KKM joint interview… Argh.. so scary…. I’d have to don on a baju kurung and TRY to converse in Bahasa Melayu the best that I can.. I hope I look smart and sound smart to the interviewers.. Best yet, I hope I AM smart in front of them.. Oh, the horror if I stammer or faint in front of them!! LOL… Pray and wish me all the best!!!

     On another more personal note, I can’t seem to stay unaffected anymore. I think it’s time I hide inside my fortress and ignore my surroundings again. Lock news and gossips out as I successfully did for the past few years… LOL… Sounds pathetic yet safely so…. What with clinical quotas going on and our clinics coming to an end, ppl are getting more and more desperate and tend to start thinking only of themselves. Which is fine if they don’t step on my toe but….they did.. Argh.. Really hate that.. Especially since they made innocent bystanders get hurt in their line of fire, no, not innocent bystanders, those I’m referring to are more of a law enforcer/ emergency medical team member/ fire-fighter role who sacrifices for others…. If you read this, I hope you know who you are and how grateful I am to you… But then, come to think of it… I might thread on other ppl’s toes accidentally or with intent so…. Sigh…. It’s such a cruel give and take world!! I really hope all this end soon and we can all graduate smoothly and lay by the beach of somewhere exotic as a WHOLE class going on our trip together!!! 

Final bend…

     It’s gonna be a hectic run to the finish line!! Grant me superhuman strength, stamina, wisdom and power!!! And the power to stop/slow time!!! Lol… Am gonna miss SP soon.. It’s being developed at such a fast pace that I’m jealous of my future juniors… I mean, they’ll be getting so many new malls so near them that… hmm… maybe it’s not such a good thing for their studies after all… Hahaha….

     Was told by Dr. Marzuki that future dental graduates are mostly-and I mean mostly, 90%-ish mostly-gonna be posted to Sabah and Sarawak this time.. Sigh.. And there I was, thinking so hard on where to apply for… Sighs again.. Oh wells, if it is so, so be it!! Just pray that I’ll be surrounded by many many good friends there then!!

My last family trip to Melaka!!

One of the things I’ll surely miss from SP-cheap and nice food… This packet of sweet potato and fried banana fritters-yeah yeah, I know they’re unhealthy food etc etc but hey, they’re nice!!! Lol….- costs only RM 1!! It’s so cheap k??

Start of my last BDS term break..

     Like I’ve already mentioned in my previous post, I’d LOVED to graduate soon-don’t get me wrong-but I love even MORE our current dentistry course layout. Professor Comfort is such a darling and efficient planner that our schedule is busy-

busy.like.crazy.wanna.faint.no.time.to.breathe.busy-

yet gives us some little breather at the end of the term or in some lucky weeks. Now that Saturday is also opened for clinics and some Sundays are for hospital visits, it’s on really rare occasions that we get to sleep in on weekends. Sigh, there goes my weekend time. But then I’m not complaining. It’s been a real joy studying these past few years and knowing the people that I’m close with now. Am not really a cry-baby by nature, so can’t wait to see when we graduate/ on convocation day/ on the last day of our last paper/ on the last day of our class trip whether my tear-floodgates are going to burst forth. LOL…

      Anyway, pastor shared a joke just now in church that I think is really funny. Anyone could tell me whether they heard/read/seen this anywhere??

3 persons went to play golf on a fair, sunny day. The first golfer teed off and the golf-ball flew then sank to the bottom of a pond. He then proceeded to holding his golf club above the pond water and the water parted in two. He went to where his golf ball was and hit it to the other side of the pond on the green. Moses looked back to the other two golfers and gave a small victorious smile.

The second person’s turn came up and lo and behold, he hit the golf-ball to the middle of the pond too. As the ball was half-floating and half-sinking, Jesus quickly walked on water and hit the ball over to the other side of the bank.

Next came the 3rd person’s turn. He gave one good hit to the golf ball and the ball flew all the way over the fence, out of the golf course, rolled on the highway next to the golf course, got hit by a passing truck, flew to the rooftop of a nearby house, dropped into the rain gutter of the house and down a hill into a pond. As the ball rolled down the hill, it hit a pebble and dropped on a lily-pad at the edge of the pond. As the ball is sinking, a frog came up and ate the ball up. While the frog was holding the ball in its mouth and wanting to swallow it, an eagle made its descent from the sky, swooped down and caught the frog in its claws. Soaring higher and higher in the eagle’s claws, the frog got scared and gave out a frightened shout! The golf ball in its mouth fell down fast and went straight into the hole in the golf course where the 3 persons stood. It was a hole-in-one!!!!

Moses then looked to Jesus and said while shaking his head:”It is impossible to win your father in a game of golf.”

Is that funny or what???!!!! LOL…..

ADSAlympics 2012

     Phew, as I’m writing this, I’m battling hard with sleepiness and fatigue. (Partly due to sports but mostly coz of my biorhythm getting messed up over this weekend. Not that I participated much anyways.. Our batch has forced-produced many Superman and Wonder Woman for me to be of any use.. Lol…) Why am I not sleeping and compensating? Good question!! *zzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZ….. Dozes 5 minutes after posting this* Hehe…

     Anyway, this would be my last year participating in a sports event, whether it’s a physical or mental one. When we graduate and start working, unless there’s some rivalry going on between the staffs/districts/states, otherwise I’m sure I’ll just sit still for a very very long time without joining events like this anymore.. But then, the way we compete in the future would most probably be through competitions such as “Kawasan Kerja Ter-teratur”, or “Tandas Terbersih tanpa Bau”, or “Sistem Pengfailan yang Terbaik dengan Kod Warna Tercantik” or something.. Lol.. So if it EVER gets competitive and rough, I’m gonna roll my eyes and go home laughing real hard.. And shaking my head all the way… =p

     So yes, our last year of expressing Batch 3 unity!!! I’m starting to miss everyone already….. T.T Surely someday in the future, I’ll look back through my blog posts, see these photo and think….

What was I thinking then??!!!!
Lol, just kidding!!! I’ll cherish all these moments freezed in time...
