Weekend getaway... Part 2

Yes, as promised, this is the second part of our weekend fun, friends and food getaway... *Sigh, if only we were doing this in some remote area lik Timbuktu or something, it'll be more exciting huh?? ok, scratch that, I'd rather prefer an island.... dreams away...*

Saturday-28th of February
The next morning, with groggy eyes and all, we somehow managed to wake up in time to go to the market to buy stuffs for BBQ later at night... Since the market is just like any other market, I shall spare you the sight in case you start imagining disgusting odours drifting thru your nostril soon... Anyway, then we had breakfast at this Chinese coffee shop where Jo En-our hostess and my darling roommate-and her family eats faithfully almost every morning.. A whole new level of dedication ppl!! Lol...

A bowl of noodle served there.. "Lo mee"
Simple and delightful
...

After sleeping thru the most the the rest of the afternoon, lik this...

Can you spot how many "bodies" are there?? Lol, check out a dead ostrich body there as well!! Hahahahha...

Ahem, joke's aside, then came lunch, where Jo En (supposedly, bwahaha..), her mum and her maid proceeded to come up with this spread.. Yum... Funny thing is, even after Jo En announced loudly that we're eating at her place, AGNES, was so blur, she went in the room to get her purse out... Which resulted in all of us laughing quite loud... Lik... Earth to Agnes, Earth to Agnes, come back now, come back now!! hahaha...

Yum!!! Which we all promptly gulped down leaving her other family members empty in the stomach.. Sorry, uncle!!!

You would think we would be full after that meal right, but NOOOOOooooooo, there we go again, out we go, for a tea time meal at a Siam stall near Jo En's house at Taman Indera, Jitra.. Do leave me a comment if you wanna know the exact location.. Since it's a Thailand thingy, do expect the food to be sliiightly on the spicy edge... But the "ais kacang" there's mmm, mmm, YUMMY!!! The best most of us ever tasted... Serious!!! Just check the pictures out and decide for yourself...
DSC00809

Spicy & sour "som tam".. It's a Thai dish made up of shreds of unripe papaya, peanuts, their signature paste and chilis..Real yummy but a tad too spicy for me...Not recommended for those with a weak tongue...

There're fried noodles, rice etc served as well... A so-so review though...

DSC00811

The main attraction there would be this humongous giant of an "ais kacang" tower!! Yummyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy..... And unbelievably cheap!! It's priced a a meagre price of RM1.20.. yes, you've read correctly, ONE RINNGGIT AND TWENTY CENTS!! Like, WHAT??!!!! Trust me, this is a not-to-be-missed-thing...

After that huge tower for each of us girls, we are actually ready to brace fire and smoke for a barbeque session... We are Malaysians, hear us-or our stomachs to be more exact-ROOOOAAAAARRRRRRR!!!! Scary actually, haha, but we don't really care so...

Agnes and I getting ready to burn some serious meat...

2009 pui shie's b'day 066

(L-R) Jo En's younger sis, Melissa, Agnes, Pui Shie (being funny) and me (being, well, the silly me... Lol...)

Missing from the pic: Youming, our photographer, Jo En (who most probably was busy frying some French Fries now) and Jo En's younger bro..

2009 pui shie's b'day 059

Jo En and Youming finally having a chance to be in the happy affair...
Which is kinda spoilt by Melissa who looks like she just smelt a tankful of shit, human excrement... Hehe...

It was supposedly a trip to celebrate Pui Shie's birthday but it was more of a friends' get-together-party which was really really nice... So, Happy B'day PS and thank you for being born on this day ...(so that we get to do all these now...hahaha...)

I don't know why, but Agnes and Pui Shie were like suddenly addicted to alcohol-Agnes especially even though she's such a weak drinker (Whoops, pls don't attempt to make her drunk soon please...)-so Jo En whipped up another round of alcohol for us.. A toast to mock an older bunch of us or something.. Lol...

Vodka with lemon juice and a dash of salt

2009 pui shie's b'day 080

Jo En focusing hard to get a good proportion I guess.. With her younger bro giving advices.. lol... Awww....

DSC00817

A toast to friends and good times together.. Cheers...

There you have it, Part 2 of the series.. Gotta give it to me for being so efficient huh?? Lol... Will come up with Part 3 of the series soon ppl, wait patiently k?? Ciaoz for now!! Much love..
